비자 신청 후 신체검사 유의사항

워킹홀리데이 비자를 이제 막 신청하시고 신체검사를 마치지 않으신 분이라면 꼭 읽어보셔야 합니다.

최근(특히 4월말~5월초 사이), 신체검사를 받는데 너무나 시간이 많이 걸린다는 제보가 있어 알아본 결과, 캐나다와 뉴질랜드 워홀비자 신청 시기와 맞물려 신체검사를 완료해야 하는 28일 제한 기간을 못지키는 분들이 많았습니다. 또 호주 신체검사 지정 병원 중 하나였던 삼성의료원이 제외되면서 총 4곳에서만 신체검사를 진행하다 보니 병목현상이 더 심해진 것 같습니다. 또 일부 병원에서는 선착순 10여명만 신체검사를 실시하기도 한다고 하니, 제 때 비자를 받기 위해서는 미리미리 준비하시기 바랍니다.

이럴 경우, 호주이민부에 신체검사가 많이 지체되어 지정된 28일 이내에 완료할 수 없다는 내용으로 이메일을 보내셔야 합니다. 이민부에서 보낸 신체검사 요청 이메일이나 아래 링크에서 본인의 이름과 이메일 주소, 그리고 관련된 내용을 입력하고 제출하시면 됩니다.

비자 심사관이 이메일 내용을 보고 신체검사 기한을 일정기간 연장해 주게 되며, 이런 내용을 제출하지 않고 28일 이내에 신체검사도 마치지 못할 경우에는 비자가 거절될 수 있으므로 주의하셔야 합니다.

Thank you for your email to the Working Holiday Maker Policy enquiries mailbox in relation to delays experienced by Korean Working Holiday visa applicants in undertaking required health checks with panel hospitals in Korea.  You have asked whether it may be possible for applicants who have experienced such delays to obtain an extension of time to submit their health checks to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

Generally, health checks requested by the Department in association with a Working Holiday visa application must be provided to the Department within 28 days of the request date.  However, if the applicant responds but indicates on reasonable grounds that the health checks cannot be provided within the 28 day timeframe, they may be granted a short additional period of time to provide the health checks. 

Requests for an extension of the 28 day period for providing health checks should be sent to the Departmental office that is processing the visa application.  Delays obtaining health checks due to the unavailability of the panel hospitals may be reasonable grounds for an extension of the 28 day period for providing the health checks to the Department.  However, each request will be assessed individually based on the information provided by the applicant.
