One in three Australians will need blood in their lifetime. At the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, we’re entrusted with collecting, processing and delivering this vital supply. We also provide a range of other services to the healthcare sector related to transplantation and immunogenetics, testing, consulting, education and research. Within a professional and close-knit team, you will be responsible for the provision of facility cleaning of the Sydney Processing Centre in accordance with the schedules for each floor. You will clean areas such as building plant rooms, walk-in cool and freezer rooms, laboratories, warehouse, waste rooms and carpark /drive way as well as general cleaning of foyer, hallways/corridors, stairways, meeting rooms, offices and staff amenities. Your challenge is to accurately complete and sign off daily cleaning records as per requirements of the cGMP and the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

You will have:

• Commercial cleaning experience within a hospital or laboratory setting
• Knowledge of current “best practice” cleaning procedures
• Experience using light commercial cleaning equipment e.g. auto scrubber, floor buffer, carpet extractor
• Basic computer skills and the ability to complete regular computer based training
• Availability and flexibility to work from Mondays to Fridays, 1:40pm to 9:45pm, with some weekend rostering

You will also be:

• Available to work in a flexible roster working evenings and weekends with the ability to accept shifts at short notice to cover variable shifts across mornings, afternoons.
• Customer service focused with excellent communication skills
• Able to undertake and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent at adapting to change in a regulated environment
• An outstanding team player who also has the ability to work autonomously
