A penthouse on the Gold Coast has been sold for almost $20 million while the building is still under construction.

Factors contributing to the appeal of the development include its location and design.

Marketing agent Adrian Parsons from Royale Gold Coast said the building's orientation was a standout feature of its design.

"It was designed so every apartment had a perfect northerly aspect," he said.

The penthouse has four bedrooms, four parking spaces and 360 degree views.
