Kitchen Porter

Help us celebrate the notion of Asian street food with a modern, urban twist at Mr Good Guy Devonport! We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team on a casual basis.

Located in the Novotel Devonport, Mr Good Guy takes you deep into the night markets of Asia, allowing our guests to experience the hawker food found in the backstreets and laneways of South-East Asia in the heart of Devonport. We pride ourselves on our fun, contemporary and authentic menu that showcases local produce and international favorites.

What you'll be doing…

• Performing cleaning duties within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• General pantry duties and maintain cleanliness of pantry, fridges and freezers
• Assist in the preparation of food under the supervision of the Head Chef and Kitchen team.
• Operating the dishwashing machine, ensuring all operating equipment, crockery, cutlery & glassware is hygienically and safely stored.
• Keeping all kitchens clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations.
• Ensuring garbage is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift.
• Following the correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturers instructions.
• Contributing to cost control through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliances.

What we are looking for…

• A team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Organised and have excellent time management skills
• A solid understanding of food safety requirements. 
• Previous cleaning, customer service or hospitality experience.
• The ability and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster.
